Small Business Management ToolsThe key to successfully managing a small business is to
get the job done right - while spending as little time as possible doing it. You have products to create,
services to complete and customers to find. You don't want to spend a lot of time "managing".
For many small businesses, a large part of managing a business comes down to tracking finances: the income and
expenses of the business. This also includes paying employees, billing clients, submitting taxes, etc...
Some business owners have the money to hire a
bookkeeper or accounting firm to handle the record-keeping, but if you are on a limited budget you may need to
take on the job yourself. The good news is that there is software which can automate much of the work for
you.
As long as you can input the numbers, software can keep everything organized so that you can save time.
QuickBooks can make your company accounting much easier. Not
only do you stay organized and on-track throughout the year, when it comes time to fill out tax reports and
complete tax returns, Quickbooks can print out reports and profit-loss statements with the click of a few
buttons. Many small businesses are switching to the Quickbooks online service, as it can be accessed from
any computer or mobile device, even if you are away from your office computer. However, you can still purchase
the Quickbooks Pro software package. And yes, there is a Quickbooks for Mac version.
There is also a new feature called Intuit GoPayment where businesses can take credit card payments
through an iPhone, Android or Blackberry. A free card reader is included with the service.
